Starlit sky and crescent moon,
Snowy mountains and placid ocean,
Happy couples and innocent children,
Make me wonder,
What’s LOVE?

Hearing this, the Divine Mother beckons,
Stroking my hair, She explains,
“My little flower, my silly little girl,
I’ll show you what’s Love.”

Love between parent and child,
Helps you grow and prepare for the battles of life in a row,
When it is detached and pure.
But when it’s demanding, dominating and over-protective,
It makes you stagnant and constrictive.

Love between sisters, brothers and cousins
Lends you an understanding ear,
Guides you with compassion,
If truly they care.
But when it’s adulterated with ego and jealousy,
It can be quite stuffy.

Love between friends,
Can be never-ending support and encouragement
It can be your mirror,
When it is fair.
But when there is unfair competition
It can stifle your progression.

Love between husband and wife,
Can make your spirit rise,
It makes you loving, generous and wise,
When it’s complete and trustworthy.
But when it’s one-sided,
And there is vice,
It can make you fall from the greatest height.

Love between a devotee and GOD
Is the most wondrous of all.
Since God’s love is omnipresent,
In all event,
Here devotee is liable for all,
If the devotion is pure and rigorous,
It can grant you nirvana,
But when devotion is mixed with baneful purpose,
Nothing can save you from the comedown.
