Essentials of Baking: Recipes and Techniques for Successful Home Baking (William Sonoma Essentials)
September 25th, 2007
I have always been fascinated by baking but could never dare to bake a cake that didn’t require cake mix. Essentials of Baking: Recipes and Techniques for Successful Home Baking (Williams-Sonoma Essentials) changed that. Thanks to this book, I’m proficient with basic baking techniques. It really helps that the techniques such as “folding” or “whipping cream” are illustrated with photographs.
My successful ventures from this book are banana bread, pizza (comes out so good that we don’t feel like buying it from Papa Johns anymore), blueberry pie, crème brulee, flan, corn bread. If we didn’t have to watch our waistlines, I would try more recipes sooner rather than later.
