Homeschooler Days in Memphis Zoo

Arjun hopes to participate in as many homeschooler days as possible this academic year.

April: Dissection of mouse.

February: Critter connections – Would you dare fly into the mouth of a crocodile or catch a ride on a whale’s back? Animal friendships are everywhere! Can you feel the love (or the lack thereof) amongst our animal companions?

January:  Explored nature’s acoustics throughout the Zoo. From quacks, to moos, to cock-a-doodle-doos, Arjun learnt how animals communicate by using their own unique styles. He created a popsicle stick harmonica and learnt about sound waves and wavelengths.

November: Dissection of snail!

September: Zoo in Motion! What goes up must come down! They explored motion in a zoo-tacular way. Ever wonder why ducks fly in a V or how a sea lion moves so quickly through the water? They discussed and examined Newton’s three laws of motion and how they apply to the Zoo every day!
