I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal (Harper Perennial P.S. Edition)
" by Eric Schlosser. I was shocked to learn about the facts of the fast food industry.
The part that I will never forget is the dangers involved in a slaughter industry. I could have never imagined existence of anything like this in this age, especially in America. It is completely inhumane and outrageous. After reading this book, I have been to McDonald’s only for hot chocolate during winter.
The other interesting part was the story of Carl’s Jr. It was very fascinating.
Also, I had often wondered why it is so difficult to travel by train in United States. This book answered this question finally. It’s sad that the lobbying by motor companies during the early days have really sealed the fate of public transport in this country.
